The Opportunity
We are seeking an xP&A Accountant to join our Global Finance Strategy team, supporting the xP&A Workstream for Program Oasis. This role is focused on financial forecasting and analysis within OneStream, developing comprehensive financial models, leveraging data-driven insights, and collaborating across teams to inform strategic decision-making. The xP&A Accountant will work closely with various segments, Corporate Forecasting, and integrators to refine process design, methodology, governance, testing, and training.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop xP&A models in OneStream to align with Global Finance Transformation objectives.
- Define critical dimensions, operational metrics, and indicators to enhance forecasting accuracy.
- Assess potential risks and develop scenario-based forecasts to aid decision-making.
- Collaborate across departments to gather business inputs and ensure forecasting accuracy.
- Design and present financial reports and forecasts for senior leadership, providing actionable insights.
- Create and implement a multi-generational project plan to continuously improve forecasting methodologies.
What You Bring
- Strong financial acumen with an understanding of Caterpillar’s accountable reporting methodologies.
- Data analysis expertise, including statistical analysis, data manipulation, and visualization tools.
- Analytical thinking, with the ability to identify key business drivers and interpret complex data.
- Excellent communication skills for effectively engaging stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to collaborate across departments, ensuring accurate and aligned financial projections.
- Technical proficiency, ideally with financial forecasting tools and OneStream software.
- A professional degree or certification with several years of full-time study post-college.
