Web Application Designer/Developer

Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a skilled Web Application Designer/Developer to join our dynamic development team supporting the Department of Energy in Germantown, Maryland. This role offers a remote work environment and an exciting opportunity to develop and enhance web applications. U.S. citizenship is required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop both UI/UX and back-end web applications within a J2SE/J2EE environment as part of a collaborative team.
  • Work primarily with existing/legacy code while contributing to some new development efforts.
  • Utilize Angular for new development and maintain legacy applications built with Ext JS.

Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy Clearance (Active Top Secret or Q Clearance preferred).
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in web application development.
  • Strong UI/UX design experience, including page layout, screen/form mock-ups, and wireframe development.
  • Expertise in developing transactional web applications, including UI/UX and web services, using:
    • Angular, Bootstrap, HTML, JavaScript, CSS
    • Servlets, Java, AJAX, XML, Spring Framework, JSP
    • Oracle SQL and PL/SQL
  • Extensive experience in RESTful and SOAP Web Services, including WSDL, XML, JSON.
  • Prior experience working with Oracle WebLogic/J2EE application server and Oracle RDBMS.
  • Proficiency in GIT version control tools.
  • Experience using IDE tools such as VSCode, Visual Studio, Eclipse.
  • Knowledge of ExtJS 3.x/4.x is a plus.
  • Experience with Jasper iReport is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to translate requirements into application design and development.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, along with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with fellow developers to ensure consistency in application design and structure.
  • Willingness to contribute to process improvement efforts within the development team.
  • Adaptability to iterative release cycles and workflow processes.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team while managing multiple priorities.
