Menzies Distribution is looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to join our Portsmouth team. If you’re a motivated professional with experience in warehouse operations, this is your opportunity to lead a team, manage logistics, and maintain a safe, efficient work environment. As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will oversee the unloading, packing, and distribution of goods while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. This role also involves managing KPIs, vehicle dispatch, and returns processing to meet customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities of a Warehouse Supervisor

People Management & Leadership

• Plan staffing needs, manage rotas, and oversee training and onboarding.
• Address employee conduct, manage absences, and handle disciplinary processes.
• Ensure payroll, return-to-work interviews, and HR documentation are completed accurately.

Health & Safety Compliance

• Ensure all staff complete necessary safety training and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Identify and implement risk assessments and additional training where required.

Warehouse Operations & Productivity

• Track KPIs and drive efficiency improvements to optimize cost and productivity.
• Motivate teams to meet deadlines while maintaining quality and performance targets.
• Maintain a tidy, structured warehouse environment.

Communication & Team Engagement

• Conduct team briefings and communicate policies, procedures, and health & safety updates.
• Collaborate with management to address staffing, process improvements, and operational updates.

What We Need from You

Essential Skills & Competencies:

• Strong leadership and warehouse team management experience.
• Proven ability to meet operational goals and manage shift planning.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP/Power BI knowledge is a plus.
• Knowledge of warehouse health and safety practices.

Required Qualifications:

• Full UK Driving Licence (No more than 6 points).
• FLT/PPT Licence (Preferred but not essential).
• No previous disqualifications (NI, DD, or DR).
• Understanding of transport legislation.
• Positive attitude, flexibility, and a strong work ethic.
