POSITION PURPOSEResponsible for maintenance and operation of a central receiving department. Duties include process incoming shipments, fleet maintenance and assist in the mailroom as needed; warehouse maintenance and safety, including cleaning and organizing the warehouse; conduct regular audits of equipment; identify hazardous material and take necessary steps to ensure safe use; cleaning and basic maintenance of fleet vehicle; off campus parts/merchandise pickup; verify and confirm incoming inventory; fill orders and coordinate deliveries; assist with inventory accounting; research product information and process purchase orders; assist accounting personnel with processing of receivables; sort incoming campus mail to be delivered, apply appropriate postage for outgoing mail, assist with bulk mailings, deliver mail to campus departments and assist customers at the mailroom window; and other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGESKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of:
    • purchase orders, invoices, requisitions and vouchers;
    • general warehouse/supply room and inventory procedures;

 

Ability to:
  • maintain accurate records;
  • supervise;
  • make basic arithmetic calculations;
  • compare information and recognize discrepancies;
  • understand and follow prescribed procedures;
  • establish effective working relationships with fellow employees;
  • repeatedly lift 50 to 100 pounds;
  • operate a delivery vehicle, forklift, or pallet jack may be necessary.
