@humbledesigncleveland serves individuals, families, and veterans emerging from homelessness by transforming their empty house into a warm, welcoming, and uplifting home with donated furniture and household goods. We believe in restoring dignity to every family that has experienced homelessness. We aim to build a committed, creative network of individuals, community leaders, and corporations working toward creating stability for those affected by homelessness.
This candidate will report to the Humble Design Operations Manager and will be expected to lead the warehouse operations, logistics, and service execution. The right candidate should have proven team leadership skills as you will directly supervise the moving team. You will work alongside the movers, assisting with moving furniture, cleaning the warehouse, and repairing items, as a working manager. This individual is responsible for placing furniture into our client’s homes on Deco Days (day that we as an organization decorate a client’s home), picking up furniture donations, as well moving furniture within the warehouse. This role requires not only the ability to maintain a safe and clean warehouse, but the ability to maintain positive relationships with donors, clients, staff, and volunteers.
Other duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Passionate about our mission with a strong desire to help those emerging from homelessness
- Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks for the moving team
- Monitor time-keeping for direct reports
- Offer support and mentorship to moving team and ensure safe moving practices are being upheld
- Responsible for scheduling & confirming furniture donation pickups – corresponding to requests with exceptional customer service
- Ensure warehouse upkeep: efficiently organize donated furniture and maintain cleanliness, and monitor inventory
- Drive truck for donation pickups, client services, and other duties
- Safely deliver & move furniture into client homes on deco days based on designer floor plans
- Upkeep & maintenance of Humble Design truck, tools, warehouse supplies and equipment
- Assist with building or repairing furniture as needed in the warehouse and on deco days.
- Complete additional warehouse projects including building shelving, storage and repairing furniture (proficiency with tools is a must)
- Cordially work with other employees, volunteers, and contractors (security, additional movers for hire, designers) to ensure obligations on deco days and in the warehouse are met
- Ability to lift heavy items 5 days a week and operate equipment
- Other duties as assigned

- Must be proficient with Google Suite-Google calendar, Google Sheets, Gmail, Google maps or other map applications

- Strong customer service & empathy skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Valid Ohio driver’s license
