About the job

As Utility Sales Director, you will be responsible for driving solar module sales within the utility market across North America. You will leverage existing relationships with utility developers, key EPCs, and other key stakeholders. In this role, you will manage the full sales cycle, from identifying opportunities and developing strategies to closing deals and ensuring successful project execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate regional market trends, supply-demand dynamics, government policies, and competitor performance.
  • Develop a business development strategy tailored to specific utility partners, including developers, EPCs, and consultants.
  • Explore new utility market segments and opportunities to expand company’s product offering and market share.
  • Set quarterly and annual sales targets for the utility segment and achieve those targets through effective sales strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with utility-scale developers, large EPCs, and other key stakeholders to drive long-term partnerships.
  • Lead the negotiation of commercial terms, ensuring alignment with pricing, quality, and delivery expectations.
  • Prepare and deliver sales reports, including pipeline tracking, forecasts, and performance reviews.
  • Maintain accurate customer and project data and provide regular updates to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Collect and analyze customer feedback, market trends, and competitor insights to inform product strategy and roadmap.
  • Partner with internal product and development teams to ensure company’s offerings meet the evolving needs of the utility market.
  • Support marketing efforts, including attending industry exhibitions, presenting at conferences, and assisting with product launches.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador, promoting our value proposition and differentiators to the utility market.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in solar component sales, specifically in the utility segment.
  • Proven track record of closing multi-megawatt deals with developers, EPCs, or utilities.
  • Experience working with procurement processes, including responding to RFPs and negotiating contracts.
  • Strong understanding of utility-scale solar market dynamics, including project development cycles and financial drivers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and influence decision-making with key stakeholders.
  • High level of critical thinking and problem-solving skills to navigate complex sales processes.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of working independently in a remote environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and presentation software.
