Unregulated Care Providers (UCP)

Stittsville, ON K2S 1V4, Canada

We’re on the lookout for a passionate Unregulated Care Providers (UCP), Healthcare Aide, Home Health Aide (HHA), Patient Care Assistant (PCA), to join our team in the senior living industry in Stittsville, ON Canada

Shift schedule: 3pm-11 pm : 30 hrs. bi-weekly (every other weekend), plus one additional day either on a Friday or a Tuesday each week)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Medication Administration (*UCPs only)

  • The UCP is responsible for providing the highest degree of quality care and services by administering medication and treatments in a safe organized manner by law and in accordance with prevailing practices as set out by the pharmacy
  • Reviews, reads, documents and communicates pertinent information about residents.
  • Receives medication updates
  • Administers/assists/observes medications and treatments for each resident using the medication administration record (MAR)
  • Medications are passed according to times as directed by the residence and/or physician’s order
  • Documents and initials as medications are given; appropriate documentation is completed for refusal or missed doses.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all resident information including resident medication among other residents

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated understanding of/empathy for the needs of seniors
  • Passionate about providing excellent care and services to seniors
  • Certified in CPR and First Aid recommended
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to update and keep current their knowledge of changing regulations, practices and procedures
  • Previous employment in a health care/hospitality setting an asset
  • PSW or Supportive Care certification an asset
