Overview

JOB DESCRIPTION

An opportunity has arisen for a Transport Support Assistant to be based at our Distribution Centre in Wellingborough. This challenging and interesting role will appeal to an individual with drive, determination and enthusiasm.

How will you contribute?

  • Administration of the movement of vehicles and associated activities.
  • Undertake all activities in line with KPI requirements and SLA’s.
  • Daily checks on scheduled moves to ensure they have been collected and delivered in line with Customer requirements.
  • Identifies vehicles and trailers requiring servicing, removes from circulation and forwards to Fleet and Compliance.
  • Issues required paperwork and in a timley fashion.
  • Conducting detailed pre-briefs and de-briefs.
  • Utilises Microlise Fleet telematic system to monitor Driver time keeping and FTA to download digicards.
  • Operate Desk Plans and FDR Front Desk Register on computer desktop.
  • Works closely with key operational partners including other departments, depots and customer locations.
  • Collate data using spreadsheets for reporting purposes
  • Collect route information and liaise with colleagues to ensure timely despatch from site and attend debrief upon route completion.
  • Ensure compliance with all company, statutory and Health and Safety obligations.
  • Undertake other site administration duties as required.
  • Engage with colleagues to promote a positive and collaborative work culture.
  • Deliver safety messages to colleagues and drive the safety culture.
  • Reporting to the Transport Team Manager.

  • Well organised and able to work to deadlines.
  • Computer literate with good experience in using Microsoft Office – especially Excel.
  • Ability to work under pressue and flexible in their approach.
  • Sound team player and motivator who can work on own initiative.
  • Knowledge or appropriate Driver legislation, Microlise, FTA and management software is desirable but not essential.
  • Good numerical and analytical skills paying strong attention to detail.
  • Driven by continual improvement and high personal standards.
