Jewson, a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe, is on the hunt for a Timber Forklift Driver to join our Stark Supply Chain Solutions site in Hull, who is as passionate about great service as we are.

Shifts: Monday to Friday 6am-2pm then 1:30pm-21:30pm, alternating weeks

Location: STARK Supply Chain Solutions, Timber Terminal, King George Dock, Yorkshire, HU9 5QE

Key Responsibilities

Our Timber Forklift Drivers are an integral part of the Stark Supply Chain Solutions team. Ensuring efficiency and accuracy in timber stock handling and management contributes to the overall success of the operation.

  • Pick and prepare timber orders, load and unload customer and supplier vehicles using MHE (forklifts and side loaders), minimising manual handling (MHE re-training provided if required)
  • Split timber loads and pick approved materials for mill processing
  • Check incoming deliveries and report missing or damaged products, ensuring all documentation is completed
  • Maintain general housekeeping of the yard and warehouse areas
  • Work as part of an organised team, contributing to the overall efficiency of the site operations
  • Perform regular stock checks and follow stock rotation procedures
  • Make Health & Safety a priority and demonstrate how you can keep yourself and others safe at work

Required Skills And Experience

  • Previous MHE experience (forklift and side loader) is preferred
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise work accordingly
  • Confident working both indoors and outdoors
  • A strong health and safety focus
