SEND Teaching Assistant Opportunity

Make a real difference in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) as a Teaching Assistant! This vital role involves supporting students’ learning, social development, and daily activities. Working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals, you’ll provide individualized support, assist with classroom management, and contribute to a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for all.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEND.
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
  • Support students during lessons, reinforcing learning objectives and providing additional guidance.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Promote inclusion and diversity within the school community.
  • Participate in training and development to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced setting.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant) are a plus.
