REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting or Tax.

Licensed CPA preferred.

Two plus years of tax preparation professional experience preferred.

Possess a basic knowledge of Federal and state tax laws.

Proficient in MS Word and Excel, general ledger, and tax preparation software.

RESPONSIBILITIES

TECHNICAL

Prepare tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, foundations, retirement plans, S- corporations in professional manner

Review client tax materials and gather additional required data to prepare tax return.

Professionally correspond with clients as needed to prepare tax returns.

Analyze data for proper treatment within the guidelines of the tax laws.

Arrange tax materials and work papers in the clients’ files in accordance with company tax procedures.

Submit tax returns to tax reviewer for review.

Review notes from the tax reviewer and make corrections required.

Maintain a thorough understanding of tax department policies and procedures

ADMINISTRATIVE

Submit weekly status reports of tax returns in process to tax manager.

Submit daily time sheets.

Attend training sessions and staff meetings for updates on procedures and tax law changes.

Advise the tax manager of problems with the tax returns and budget over-runs so action can be taken.
