Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a System Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). This position is responsible for supporting the Core Services team for operations and engineering. The Wintel engineer will be responsible for supporting the operations and maintenance of the Wintel operating systems.

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining Wintel servers (2016-2019)
  • Participate in incident management activities for Wintel servers
  • Configuring and maintain successful backups for Wintel servers
  • Participate in defining Wintel server requirements, acquisition, installation, and configuration
  • Knowledge of Microsoft administration tools
  • Participate in the documentation of activities, system changes, procedures, policies, and standards for the Wintel architecture
  • Setting up and maintaining Wintel server accounts
  • Manage installation and integration of system fixes, updates, and provide configuration and enhancements
  • Involved in implementation of security measures on Wintel servers
  • Provide technical expertise, respond to taskings, etc.
  • Work closely with IT operation delivery teams, project managers, solution engineers and government counterparts to ensure approved scheduled maintenance is completed
  • Interact with the customer on an as needed basis regarding Wintel servers
  • Communicate status of ongoing work and any issues that arise to management in a timely manner
