About the job

Summary

Our mid-sized, growing pharmaceutical client is seeking a Supply Chain Planning operations specialist consultant. You will assist in managing a complex portfolio of products with competing priorities that include balancing inventory and optimizing total delivered cost to meet finished goods demand with a focus on delivering value to our patients, our suppliers, and the client.

 

Additional facets of the role include coordinating purchase requisitions in the ERP system, monitoring supplier performance KPIs and reporting, leading escalation processes in collaboration with cross-functional partners to mitigate service impacts, supporting inventory management for new product launches, developing and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the Supply Chain that create capacity and/or improve service.

 

General Duties / Expectations of Role:

  • Participate in demand planning meetings with internal business partners (Marketing, Finance, Channel Strategy, etc.) gathering total demand for new and existing finished good SKUs.
  • Develop and manage product manufacturing and distribution plans for new and existing products that provide continuous supply to customers, including international products.
  • Create and maintain replenishment plans for finished products of responsible territories and create replenishment orders to sites at the planning time fence.
  • Develop and implement safety stock with sufficient shelf-life in alignment with desired customer service levels to meet inventory objectives and targets.
  • Communicate the manufacturing plan with all internal and external parties.
  • Issue and manage purchase orders and work with drug product plants and packaging CMOs to ensure product plan is executed on time.
  • Manage communications with interdisciplinary teams (Vendors, Channel Strategy, Global Product Quality, Quality Control, Finance, Legal, Packaging, etc.) to monitor processes and provide feedback.
  • Identify exceptions raised against existing replenishment plans and work with third-party suppliers or site production planners to negotiate resolution and adjust plans to reflect changes in demand and supply to ensure that adequate production takes place to meet market demands.
  • Participate in regular Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings with all internal key functional areas to share performance and gain alignment on future actions.
  • Partner with finance on month-end close activities, and J-SOX controls complaint.
  • Monitor inventory levels and tracking of stock movements, including completing inventory reconciliation.
  • Plan transportation and logistics, prepare/review release documentation in conjunction with GPQ, manage invoice discrepancies, maintain relevant master data, and other activities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience
  • Technical Skills: Business Analytical skills, Project Mgt., ERP (SAP S4 HANA ideally), MS 365 Suite

Preferred

  • Certifications: APICS
  • Technical Skills: GMP, Smartsheet’s, Track Wise
  • Industry Experience: Pharma, Med. Device, Food

Term & Start

  • 6+ month contract – option to extend
  • Preferred Hybrid – 1-2x a week – onsite in Rockville, MD
