Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Staff Pharmacist to support their Freedom Data Entry department. This role will be fully onsite at the Byfield, MA location, and candidates must be locally sourced. The office will move to Newburyport, MA in the coming months.
As a Staff Pharmacist, you will be responsible for interpreting physician prescriptions, compounding and dispensing medications within regulatory guidelines, and providing excellent customer service. You will work with patients, resolving complex medication-related issues and ensuring the accuracy of prescription orders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret physician prescriptions and dispense medications following regulatory standards.
- Consult with customers about medication usage and possible drug interactions.
- Perform first and second verification of prescription orders.
- Conduct Drug Utilization Reviews (DURs) and liaise with prescriber offices as needed.
- Handle phone calls from patients and prescriber’s offices, ensuring timely responses and issue resolution.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and data entry related to prescription and medication dispensation.
Skills & Experience:
- At least one year of experience as a registered pharmacist (preferably in retail or a similar clinical environment).
- Pharm D or Bachelor’s in Pharmacy (with a valid MA RPh license required).
- Strong customer service skills with an ability to efficiently manage prescription verification and consultation tasks.
- Ability to handle complex medication-related problems and provide accurate guidance.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers, patients, and healthcare professionals.
Work Schedule:
- Training (Week 1): 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday
- Post-Training Schedule:
- Option 1: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (M-F, 2 shifts), 12:30 PM – 9:00 PM (3 shifts)
- Option 2: 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM (1 shift), 10:30 AM – 9:00 PM (3 shifts)
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Job Location: Byfield, MA (office will move to Newburyport, MA in the coming months)
Qualifications:
- Education: Professional degree (Pharm. D)
- Licensure: Registered Pharmacist (RPh) in Massachusetts
- Experience: 1+ year of experience in a pharmacy setting (retail or clinical)
