Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Nonprofit Staff Accountant for a nonprofit fiercely dedicated to supporting veterans and their families. This is a full-time, temporary opportunity based out of Georgia that offers a completely remote schedule allowing candidates to work from anywhere in the United States.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process daily bank deposits, ensuring accurate and timely recording in the accounting system.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to guarantee correct revenue recognition and coding.
- Manage the full cycle of accounts payable, from invoice entry to payment processing.
- Maintain vendor records and resolve any payment-related inquiries.
- Process bi-weekly payroll allocations to ensure timely and accurate compensation.
- Prepare and analyze weekly cash flow and accounts payable reports.
- Generate ad-hoc financial reports as needed to support business decisions.
- Monitor outstanding accounts payable to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Oversee the company credit card program, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain supporting documentation.
- Assist with annual audits by providing necessary financial records and documentation.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records, primarily through electronic systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years of nonprofit accounting, finance, or business experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, QuickBooks, Concur, Bill.com, Google Workspace, or similar systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Ability to work alongside a team, communicating effectively and collaboratively.
- Able to maintain confidentiality of information as well as integrity.
- Desire to work on a mission-driven team, collaborating effectively across multiple time zones.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field.
