Staff Accountant Role

As a Staff Accountant, you will take ownership of critical accounting and payroll processes, overseeing month-end close, payroll and variable compensation, tax and audit functions, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses to ensure a smooth month-end close. Oversee accurate payroll and commission accruals while providing insights for financial reporting improvements.
  • Analyze large datasets, identify key trends, and build financial models using advanced spreadsheet techniques to enhance workflow efficiency and data accuracy.
  • Play a key role in variable compensation by calculating and refining compensation plans to align with company goals.
  • Ensure accurate payroll processing, maintain compliance with regulations, and keep meticulous tax filing records.
  • Identify and implement automation solutions to streamline financial operations and scale processes as the company grows.

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of accounting experience in a fast-paced environment (SaaS experience preferred).
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a quantitative field (such as Math, Computer Science, Economics, or Physics) is preferred.
  • Expertise in Excel and Google Sheets, with advanced functions, data manipulation, and automation capabilities to improve financial accuracy and reporting efficiency.
  • Experience working with large datasets and cross-functional teams (SQL and Salesforce knowledge is a plus).
