About the Job: QC Specialist Position

As a QC Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining quality control standards within our manufacturing process. This position requires expertise in product testing, regulatory compliance, and documentation to ensure all formulations meet industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• As a QC specilist develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems and processes.
• Conduct inspections and tests on raw materials, fragrances, and in-process/customer-supplied bulk to verify compliance with specifications.
• Adjust in-process bulk as necessary to meet quality standards.
• Complete inspection forms for finished bulk, intermediates, raw materials, and fragrances.
• Update material status in the ERP system.
• Communicate quality control information across relevant departments.
• Prepare and report nonconformance findings and assist in related investigations.
• Maintain raw material retention samples for quality assurance.
• Assist in updating SOPs, work instructions, and other department-related documents.
• Support raw material and bulk inventory cycle counts.
• Uphold professionalism while collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and external agencies.
• Complete additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.
• Adhere to company policies, setting a positive example for colleagues.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in key quality control functions and possess strong problem-solving abilities.

Required Skills & Knowledge

• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
• Strong understanding of cGMPs, SOPs, and FDA regulatory guidelines.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, pharmacy, biology, or a related field—or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of quality control experience in a cGMP-regulated OTC manufacturing environment.

Technical & Analytical Skills

• QC Specialist should be proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
• Ability to quickly adapt to new software programs.
• QC Specilist should be  Experienced in using laboratory equipment, including pH meters, refractometers, pycnometers, Brookfield viscometers, color-matching tools, scales, and lab mixers.
• Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to analyze quantitative data and perform basic calculations.

Problem-Solving & Decision-Making

• QC Specilist has ability to interpret and analyze data related to product quality and compliance.
• Identify and resolve routine and complex quality issues, escalating critical concerns to senior management as needed.
• Prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines and operational goals.
• QC Specilist should be able to apply industry best practices, cGMP standards, and regulatory guidelines to resolve quality control challenges.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Must have strong visual and sensory awareness.
• Work will take place in both office and manufacturing environments, with exposure to noise from production equipment, telephones, and warehouse operations.
• Ability to sit for extended periods (up to 8 hours), lift and carry up to 20 lbs, and move between different company areas.
• Exposure to standard office chemicals (e.g., toner, adhesives) and substances used in manufacturing nutritional supplements, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical products.
