Duration: 6 month contract to hire

Pay Rate: $30/hr

Conversion Salary: $70-75k

Day-to-Day:

A large airline client is looking for a Sr. Payroll Specialist to sit hybrid onsite in White Plains, NY. This specialist will be responsible for processing domestic payroll for employees on a semi-monthly, bi-weekly, and weekly basis, which involves extracting timesheets, vacation files, and severance payouts, and uploading them to the payroll system to ensure accurate and timely payments. Additionally, the role involves processing monthly payrolls for the Middle East, coordinating with European payroll vendors, providing monthly payroll information based on FX rate changes, verifying gross to net results, saving reports, entering payroll information into journals, creating funding information, entering invoices for tax agencies, and managing pension contributions and payments to employees and agencies. The position also handles garnishments, acts as a subject matter expert for garnishment inquiries, processes verification of employment forms, and corresponds with lenders. Collaboration with HRIS is required to update IRS mandated exemptions, and the role includes submitting union dues payments and emailing employee lists to union representatives. The position also involves providing monthly payroll data to the Bureau of Labor Statistics for 4-6 states, participating in payroll projects, responding to payroll inquiries, creating ad-hoc payroll reports, assisting with SOX narratives and payroll process documentation, and working with various departments to resolve issues and provide payroll support. Other duties and projects may be assigned as needed.
