Social Media Coordinator – University of Northern Iowa
The University of Northern Iowa (UNI) is seeking a Social Media Coordinator to manage and grow its social media presence. This role involves creating engaging content, collaborating with campus partners, analyzing performance, and staying ahead of social media trends. The application deadline is February 7, 2025.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, coordinate, create, and post original content across UNI’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube).
- Manage day-to-day content scheduling and posting.
- Lead the campus social media affinity group, sharing best practices and strategies.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on social media metrics.
- Evaluate emerging social media platforms and trends.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 3+ years of combined experience in social media, digital media, communication, marketing, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of the digital landscape.
- Experience with various social media platforms.
- Excellent writing, communication, and proofreading skills.
- Photography/videography experience.
- Experience editing photos/videos and creating graphics using Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, InDesign, Adobe Express) and other tools (Canva, CapCut).
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with Sprout Social (or similar social media management tools) and analytics reporting preferred.
- Ability to work occasional non-standard hours and travel occasionally.
Compensation:
$42,500 to commensurate, Pay Grade 118, Salary. The Waterloo-Cedar Falls area offers a lower cost of living compared to many other states. UNI also provides an excellent benefits package for eligible employees. Learn more about the Cedar Valley community at https://livethevalley.com/.
