Shop Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Research, order, receive, and distribute parts, materials, equipment, and supplies from various vendors as needed.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using a computerized inventory control system.
- Label and stock shelves, ensuring correct placement and storage.
- Verify shortages in on-hand parts inventory.
- Conduct cycle counts and adjust inventory levels accordingly.
- Monitor parts usage frequency and provide recommendations as necessary.
- Manage core returns and process parts for vendor returns.
- Keep detailed records of servicing operations, including work orders and daily status reports.
- Assist in completing monthly inventory tasks.
- Utilize fleet maintenance software to document vehicle repairs, track parts usage, and account for repair times.
- Stock and maintain service trucks as directed by the Manager.
- Ensure the shop remains clean and organized.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least two years of relevant experience in inventory or parts management preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Ability to lift 50-75 pounds, push, pull, and bend (team lift when necessary).
- Frequent exposure to environmental factors such as dirt, dust, odors, noise, and extreme weather conditions in an industrial setting.
- Regularly required to stand, sit, use hands, reach, talk, and hear.
- Occasionally required to walk, bend, climb stairs, and operate a company vehicle.
- Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- May require occasional local travel.
