About the Job
SEO Specialist – Popular Airline (Long Island City, NY)
A popular airline is seeking an SEO Specialist for a hybrid role (2-3 days onsite in Long Island City, 2-3 days remote). This is a 6-month contract (up to 40 hours/week) with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement DTC SEO strategies to drive website traffic and improve search rankings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective implementation of SEO-optimized content.
- Create, edit, and optimize website content (product descriptions, marketing copy, landing pages).
- Publish content using the CMS.
- Analyze website traffic and engagement metrics to recommend improvements.
- Identify opportunities to enhance user experience and drive conversions, and work with IT to implement changes.
Must Haves:
- 5+ years of experience implementing SEO best practices and strategies for D2C projects.
- Proficiency with tools like Google Search Console and SiteImprove.
- Experience in the airline, travel, hospitality, or retail industries.
- 4+ years of proven track record in creating, implementing, and optimizing SEO content strategies.
- 4+ years of strong expertise in SEO best practices, including keyword research and on-page optimization.
- Experience editing in CMS systems.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
Nice To Haves:
- Familiarity with analytics tools like Google Analytics, SEMrush, or Ahrefs.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, or experience with A/B testing.
- Experience optimizing multimedia content (images, videos).
- SEO or digital marketing certifications (e.g., Google Analytics, HubSpot).
- Experience collaborating with external agencies or vendors.
Additional Information:
This position may require access to client/customer systems and confidential information. It is an onsite role requiring close collaboration with team members.
