Senior Staff Accountant

Position Summary:

The Senior Staff Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring financial integrity and accurate reporting. This position is responsible for general ledger management, month-end closing processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate should have a strong accounting background, keen attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in the preparation and review of financial statements (monthly, quarterly, and annual).
  • Performing general ledger reconciliations and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Supporting month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and accruals.
  • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and variance analyses.
  • Ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
  • Supporting financial audits, including preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Maintaining and enhancing internal controls and accounting processes.
  • Managing intercompany accounting and reconciliations within ENVEA Group and California Analytical Instruments (CAI).
  • Providing ad hoc financial reporting and analysis.

Qualifications:

To perform this role successfully, the ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or technology environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAGE, SAP, or similar) and financial reporting tools (LucaNet preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • CPA certification is a plus.
