The role:
- Audit and accounts senior reporting to managers and, in some instances, directly to partners.
- Client facing – lots of opportunities to meet with clients during audit fieldwork and at planning/closing meetings.
- Providing guidance and support to more junior colleagues.
- A mixture of audit and accounts. We prepare the accounts for many of our audit clients, so a strong understanding of reporting standards is essential.
- Strong IT skills will be a given, especially in MS office products such as Excel and Word.
- We currently use Caseware Accounts Production and Audit – knowledge of Caseware would be an advantage, but training will be provided.

- Open to newly qualified or Nearly qualified applicants.
- They will be able to demonstrate good practical accountancy and communication skills.
- This role may be ideal for an ambitious individual with a smaller firm wanting to move to a Top 25 or for someone currently in an environment where there is limited opportunity for progression – the right person can expect early responsibility and will progress through the ranks and play a real role in the future of our practice.
We expect the successful candidate will demonstrate the following characteristics:
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Confidence to build rapport and manage a professional relationship with clients
- Excel and accounting software knowledge
Remuneration and benefits:

- Normal hours of work are 37.5 per week, to be worked from 8.30am to 5.00pm or 9.00am to 5.30pm (flexibility over working hours with agreement)
- Flexible working arrangements; Covid has demonstrated that we can all work equally as well from home as we can from the office. We generally expect audit staff to be in the office a minimum of 50% of the time they are not out at clients completing audit fieldwork, but this is not stringently policed and as long as the work is completed and the arrangement is working we are happy to be flexible.
- 25 days holiday, plus statutory bank/public holidays
- The ability to ‘purchase’ up to extra days leave in salary sacrifice.
- We are always on the look out to expand our team with excellent people, so offer an employee referral bonus.
