About the job
Our client, a publicly traded manufacturing company, is seeking an individual for a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant role in Chicago, IL. As the Senior Accountant, this individual will be responsible for performing monthly, quarterly and yearly close duties, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, global financial consolidation, 10-Q/10-K footnote disclosures and financial statement fluctuation analysis and will report to the Director of SEC Reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Month-end closing activities including preparing and reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist with managing financial consolidation function
- Assist with footnote disclosures and financial statement preparation for Forms 10-K and 10-Q
- Prepare quarterly and year-end schedules and assists with internal and external audits
- Participate in special projects and miscellaneous assignments
Qualifications:
- Bachelor in Accounting
- 2+ years of experience in increasingly responsible accounting roles
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
- Experience in Hyperion and/or OneStream would be a plus
- CPA is a plus
- Knowledge working in external reporting systems
- Experience with publicly held companies, manufacturing industry a plus
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task, while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills
