SEN Teaching Assistant
Hours: 30.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only
Salary: Scale 4 – £25,584 to £27,269 FTE
(salary will be pro rata to term time hours)
Start Date: Monday 6th January 2025 or as soon as possible
Valley is an outstanding special school which caters for nursery and primary aged pupils with profound and complex learning difficulties. Some children have autism too.
We wish to appoint a teaching assistant who is:
Child-centred in their approach
Complex and patient in their dealings with children who have significant special needs and who may, at times, present challenging behaviour
Knowledgeable about, or interested in, working with children who have autism and or profound and complex learning and physical difficulties
Flexible, versatile and self-motivated
Committed to their own training and development
We have a very low turnover of teaching assistants and when people do leave us it is often to retire or for career progression including teaching, nursing or therapy posts.
The successful candidate will be based in a class with up to 8 pupils.
Ongoing training is provided within school for all staff.
