This is a great international restaurant culinary career opportunity in the Cayman Islands, Caribbean (NOT FOR TORONTO)
An established market Fine Dining Restaurant in the Cayman Islands is searching for a working hands on Head Chef to lead its multicultural kitchen brigade. (Sand, sun and sea, is free)
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be a totally hands-on, high-energy, and creative Professional Chef with a solid culinary background, proven leadership skills, and a passion in Mediterranean, Italian international flavours, quality, and guest excellence.
Key Responsibilities include:
– Offering a culinary wow factor to local and international guests all over the world
– Preparation of menu items including desserts
– Expedite, execute and/or assist on the line during service
– Ensure proper sanitation and safety standards are upheld
– Implement ongoing training and teaching of the kitchen brigade
– Maintain inventory of items with a focus on budgeting, cost analysis and planning
– Maintain a positive environment to encourage growth and diversity within the workplace
Mandatory Requirements:
– Must have knowledge of current restaurant culinary trends in seafood and international Cuisine
– Must have hands-on experience in a major city trend-setting restaurants
– Post-secondary degree in Culinary Arts or industry equivalent experience with at least 3 years experience working as Restaurant Head Chef in a quality trend-setting restaurant like O&B
– Solid understanding of menu planning, complete with cost analysis, portioning, and plate presentation.
– Full knowledge of inventory control measures with the ability to develop and execute.
– Must have strong interpersonal skills and lead your small kitchen team
– Fully functional on a computer with a full knowledge menu costing and recipe conversation
– Can commence this position upon obtaining work permit visa approval in 45 to 60 days
Compensation: This position offers an excellent salary of between USD $65,000 to $70,000 net tax-free, annual vacation, and benefits. Please note: You will be responsible for your own accommodation on the island.
