Responsibilities:

  • Assist and support physicians and nurse practitioners in setting up exam rooms, performing procedures, conducting ultrasounds, assisting with pelvic exams, and providing post-procedure patient care.
  • Provide coverage for other members of the care team, including LVNs and Medical Assistants within the GYN Specialties divisions.
  • Facilitate clinic efficiency by managing workflow, multitasking, and prioritizing tasks as needed.
  • Review patient charts and follow up with providers to ensure continuity of care.
  • Coordinate all aspects of Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) care, including:
    • Patient education
    • Preoperative and postoperative care instructions
    • Managing and triaging patient messages via CS Link Inbox
    • Referring cases to physicians as needed
    • Assisting surgery schedulers with clinical support for pre-certifications and HMO authorizations for surgeries and medications.
  • Serve as a backup for surgery scheduling.
  • Provide weekend coverage for GYN Specialties on a rotating schedule (1-2 weekend days per month, including rotational holiday coverage for the Fertility Division).
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education & Licensure

  • Active California RN License required.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.

Licenses:

  • Valid California Vocational Nurse (LVN) License.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Experience & Skills:

  • 1-2 years of experience in an acute care facility or ambulatory clinic, preferably in women’s health or GYN surgery.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
