As we continue to expand, we are looking for a Receptionist/Medical Assistantwho hasthe passion to deliver the best possible care to our patients.

Summary: The Receptionist/Medical Assistantwill assist physicians and allied health partners to ensure efficient patient flow and care process. This is a permanent full-time (4-5 days a week) position, including Saturdays.

Location:St. George Medical Centre, 2nd Floor – 2585 Portage Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3J 0P5

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing administrative support to the entire clinic, including but not limited to: registering patients, answering phone, booking appointments, following up on consults and test results and other administrative duties
  • Providesadministrative assistance to doctors and allied health providers
  • Assistspatients with registrations forms and any other required paperwork
  • Responsible for referrals to specialists, diagnostic bookings and other test centres
  • Reviews and updates patients demographics and obtains necessary information as required
  • Processes payments from patients for non-OHIP services
  • Assists with third party forms and letters

Requirements:

  • Medical Office Administration certificate/diploma is considered an asset
  • Previous 1- 3 yearsof medical office experience is considered an asset
  • Administrative or customer service experience, including in a non-medical field is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of EMR and strong computer proficiencyis an asset
  • Sound knowledge of medical terminology is considered an asset
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills and strong organizational skills
