Position Description
Position Title: Receiving Clerk
Summary:
Responsible for maintaining inbound/outbound freight schedule and processing of all receiving paperwork. Greet and acknowledge all customers in a friendly, professional manner and provide quick, responsive customer service. Responsible for all other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions :
- A ssist in unloading trucks and checking in merchandise.
- Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shipped.
- Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
- Receive, verify, and compare items to purchase order
- Place incoming materials in correct location in warehouse
- Update inventory records with incoming material
- Maintain a clean work are a and any other duties assigned by manager
- Operate material handling equipment, to include box truck
- Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.
- Transportation driving responsibilities between same street locations and occasional, local, offsite vendor pick ups and drop offs.

Skills/Characteristics Needed for Success:
- At least 2 years of receiving experience within a manufacturing environment
- Proficient with ERP computer systems (Microsoft GP a plus)
- Excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel
- General computer knowledge
- Forklift experience preferred
- High school diploma or GED required
Physical Requirements:
- Dependable and consistent with sufficient patience to do work of a repetitive nature
- Physical ability to move and transport 20-25 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally with assistance; spend up to 100% of work time positioned on concrete
- Understanding of correct lifting and packaging techniques
- Must be able to position self to bend, twist, stoop, reach, kneel, and remain stationary for the duration of the shift depending on assigned duties.
