Shift/Schedule: Full Time (40 hrs/wk)

GENERAL SUMMARY

Works under the supervision of the Manager of Medical Imaging. The Radiology Technologist’s primary job function is to perform a variety of diagnostic procedures utilizing all aspects of diagnostic equipment. Responsible for producing quality diagnostic radiography images. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam Required
  • Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology required

Licensure:

  • ARRT(R) Required
  • Ohio(R) Required
  • BLS within 90 days of hire required.
  • ARRT(R)/Ohio(R)/Kentucky(R) eligible. Must be licensed within 90 days of hire.
  • Kentucky(R) Required, if working in Kentucky.

Experience:

  • Three months of on the job training preferred

JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

The following is a summary of the major job duties of this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

1. Prepares patient for examination, obtaining appropriate medical history.

2. Assesses provider order prior to completing examination.

3. Produces and submits high-quality digital radiographic images, fluoroscopic images and intraoperative images.

4. Greet customers courteously and professionally.

5. Responds to customer service complaints or issues (following AHEART model).

6. Participates in team huddles and meetings.

7. Promptly communicates equipment failure or issues to manager.

8. Responsible for cleanliness and stocking supplies in assigned area.

9. Documents pertinent information to assist Radiologist interpretation.

10. Reports all equipment malfunctions and performs equipment QC as required.

11. Performs PI monitoring as required.

12. Assists in the training of Radiography Students and newer, less experienced employees.

13. Behaves in a professional manner (includes not abusing telephone/internet privileges and breaks, socializing and being consistently punctual, etc.). Acknowledges and adheres to the “Standards of Behavior” handbook.

14. Pre-cleans, decontaminates and transports contaminated instruments according to policy

15. Transports patients as needed and performs other duties as assigned.

16. Performs intermediate-level disinfection and/ or high level disinfection per the Instructions for Use (IFU) by the manufacture. This includes ensuring the scopes or probes used within the department are cleaned, disinfected, maintained and stored per the IFU’s.
