About the job
Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking an Intermediate Project Manager to join their team for 6 months of contract with possibility of extension. The Senior Project Manager uses significant latitude to control projects, conduct status reviews, provide business guidance, identify any deviations to the project plan, and recommend corrective action to mitigate potential issues. The role is 2 days in office in Downtown, Toronto
Key Responsibilities
- Define project goals, terms of reference, resource plans, and costs while incorporating stakeholder input.
- Consolidate project information across teams and vendors, ensuring fiscal adherence and governance alignment.
- Manage financials, including forecasting, accruals, and actuals.
- Mentor teams, support decision-making, and negotiate deliverables and milestones.
- Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring milestones are completed on time and within budget.
- Build consensus through effective communication and foster strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Provide training and leadership to create a culture of collaboration and improvement.
Must-Have Requirements
- 8-10 years of experience as a Business Project Manager, specifically in technology implementations (e.g., Single Sign-On (SSO)).
- Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets exceeding $1M.
Nice-to-Have
- PMP certification (strongly preferred).
- Experience within financial institutions, especially CIBC.
- Agile certification.
- Proven expertise in technology implementations.
- Familiarity with Planview.
