The contract is renewable .
Hourly rate is $31
Shifts are 12 hours rotating continental (including overnight shifts)
A Production Leader is responsibility for all direct reports on the team, and 100% accountable for their performance, including: safety, quality, employee development, daily performance, all in support of the site’s goals and objectives.
Reporting to the Production Supervisor this position has approx. 20 direct reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Role model for the site safety, environmental, and quality standards. Accountable for ensuring the team compliance to all policies, procedures, and wellbeing of all the employees.
- Set team dynamics to determine how the team communicates, interacts, and collaborates with one another fostering a positive work environment. Provides coaching / support to all direct reports.
- Decides the best approach to fulfil tasks, organize the team’s daily assignments, provides structure for completing scheduled activities and drives change according with the Business needs. Shares best practices with peers.
- Demonstrates teamwork and shared learnings for the success of the plant.
- Supports employee development and capabilities with regards to training, staffing, and following all company policies and plant needs.
- Ensures notifications are made to Shift Supervisor when absence occurs on shift. Also communicate the pay changes when someone is working in another department or role to ensure accurate pay. Ensure that decisions regarding employee action is reviewed with Supervisor prior to delivery – following firm, fair & consistency between shifts.
- Acts as part of the CFA process – required to assist with troubleshooting on lines.
- Monitors the performance of the team to ensure efficiency and productivity, assessing how the team completes tasks and how successful the team is at accomplishing OEE and scrap targets while proposing milestones for improvement.
- Understands and follows through with timely action to communication and address gaps.
Qualifications:
- Proven work experience as a leader with strong interpersonal skills, ability to lead performance in a flexible production department.
- Ability to think strategically and communicate on a cross-functional basis.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Competency to recognize performance gaps and to hold direct reports accountable.
- Proven ability to cope with difficult situations and conflict resolution.
- Highly computer literate with efficient knowledge of internal software programs
