- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Bachelor of Applied Technology (BAT) in Cybersecurity
- Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Construction Management
- Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) in Clinical Operations Management (newly introduced)
Position: Journeyman Plumber
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage plumbing projects, from installation and maintenance to repairs and modifications.
- Diagnose and repair leaks in a variety of piping systems carrying water, steam, and gases.
- Work with copper, brass, black steel, PVC, cast iron, and other piping materials.
- Read blueprints and building plans to determine the sequence and placement of plumbing systems.
- Conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on domestic water, reclaimed water, wastewater, steam, and gas systems.
- Install and repair plumbing fixtures, including sinks, toilets, and safety eyewash stations.
- Clear drain blockages and ensure proper water flow using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Identify and implement cost-effective solutions for plumbing maintenance and repairs.
- Perform preventive maintenance on pumps, valves, and other components.
- Participate in the On-Call Program and respond to emergency plumbing situations as needed.
- Support other technicians in achieving key performance goals.
- Adhere to all college policies, safety standards, and procedures.
- Operate computerized systems and job-tracking software.
- Provide clear and effective communication with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes, OSHA regulations, and college policies.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist with additional duties as needed.
- Maintain high professional standards in alignment with the college’s mission, policies, and core values.
- Participate in the On-Call program as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Experience: Minimum of three (3) years as a journeyman plumber.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Current Journeyman Plumber License issued by the State of Texas Board of Plumbing Examiners or the ability to obtain one.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, materials, and best practices.
- Familiarity with plumbing codes, OSHA regulations, and safety standards.
- Experience with reading blueprints and technical drawings to determine installation sequences.
- Proficiency in computerized systems for project tracking and maintenance.
- Ability to work in various physical conditions, including standing, kneeling, lifting, and working in confined spaces or elevated areas.
- Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and repair leaks in complex piping systems.
- Effective communication and leadership skills to coordinate and oversee plumbing projects.
- Availability to participate in the On-Call program as needed.
