About the Role:
As a Mobile Plant Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating a variety of plant equipment across the site, including loading shovels, FLTs, and telehandlers. You’ll assist in loading vehicles such as curtain-sided vehicles, shipping containers, and bulk haulage walking floors, while adhering to safety standards and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate machinery such as baling machines and other fixed plant equipment.
  • Conduct pre-operational safety checks and maintain equipment.
  • Ensure all waste deliveries comply with site regulations and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Inspect incoming products in line with site waste acceptance criteria and report non-compliant loads.
  • Guide customers to appropriate disposal areas and assist with offloading as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with material export requirements, including paperwork and container seals.
  • Assist with sampling, site cleanliness, and contribute to lean initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure the site operates efficiently and safely.

Requirements:

  • Ideally, you will have experience and hold the relevant CITB/CPCS/NPORS certification or equivalent (training can be provided for the right candidate).
  • A flexible attitude is essential, as you may need to cover for holidays or sick leave.
  • A commitment to safety and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
  • Previous experience in the waste industry or high-volume production environments is beneficial but not required.
