Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with the care and management of critically-ill cardiac patients such as patients with cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, mixed shock, complicated acute coronary syndromes, valvular disease, infectious endocarditis, complicated arrhythmias and any other critical care issue complicating patients with baseline cardiovascular disease.
- Rounding in these patients, working as part of the multidisciplinary teams, performing critical care procedures within their scope of practice.
- Managing mechanical circulatory support devices such as IABP, impella and ECMO, as well as participating in family meetings and consultations.
- Managing ICU patients, including mechanical ventilation, MCS, performing ICU procedures such as central line placement, arterial line placement, hemodialysis catheter placement, pulmonary artery catheter placement, transvenous pacemakers.
- Writing H&Ps and progress notes, placing orders for treatment.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Designee.
- Minimum Qualifications
- Current New York State registration as a Physician Assistant; or
- Current limited permit issued by New York State to practice as a Physician Assistant.
