Minimum Qualifications

  • A Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy is required, or a Bachelor’s degree with prior experience as a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Must hold a current New York State license or a limited permit as a Registered Physical Therapist.
  • Previous experience in Physical Therapy is preferred.
  • Experience or interest in Lymphedema is an advantage.

Responsibilities

Patient Evaluation:

  • Assess patient impairments and current conditions to determine rehabilitation potential.
  • Monitor and report on patient progress, maintaining effective communication with physicians and other team members.
  • Provide guidance and support to patients and their families, considering the level of disability or impairment.

Treatment & Planning:

  • Design individualized physical therapy treatment plans, including training in functional mobility, the use of assistive devices, therapeutic exercises, balance and coordination retraining, massage, and heat or cryotherapy.
  • Administer diagnostic and progressive functionality tests to track patient improvement.

Leadership:

  • Train, mentor, and coach team members to maintain departmental standards.
  • Manage scheduling needs to ensure adequate coverage and continuity of care.

Education and Certifications

  • Must have a valid New York State license or limited permit as a Registered Physical Therapist.
