PHARMACY ASSISTANT (FULL TIME)

LOCATION: Northway Pharmacy Health Sciences, 700 William Avenue (inside HSC), Winnipeg, MB

Ensuring all customers have a positive pharmacy experience and will be required to work in a fast-paced environment while providing excellent customer service. Responsible for greeting and helping customers, with a focus on processing/data entry, and preparing prescriptions including compliance packaging (blisters and PacMed) and assist in inventory management among other responsibilities.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous community/retail pharmacy experience (minimum 2 years preferred)
  • Experience inputting and filling prescriptions
  • Experience working with pharmacy computer programs (Kroll experience an asset)
  • Experience with inventory control including placing and receiving orders
  • Maintain patient confidentiality according to PHIA
  • Possess excellent communication skills and be able to assist patients and direct patient questions to appropriate staff
  • Possess excellent customer service skills
  • Demonstrate a high degree of initiative, organizational skills and time management ability
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Ability to answer phones using the proper identifiers
  • Operate a cash register and be able to handle cash, cheque, credit card and charge transactions
  • Ability to multi-task and recognize when additional help is required
  • Ability to accurately file prescriptions and other confidential documentation
  • Ability to work as an effective team member and assist other pharmacy staff members as required
  • Ability to work independently

SCHEDULE:

  • Monday to Friday – 6 to 8 hour shifts
  • Saturdays – 6 hours, and on rotation
  • NO SHIFTS – Past 6pm, Sundays or Statutory holidays

ABILITY TO COMMUTE:

  • Winnipeg, MB inside Health Sciences Center: reliably commute
