Company Overview
The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) serves as the state’s leading agency dedicated to preventing disease, reducing injuries and disabilities, promoting overall health and well-being, and responding to public health emergencies.
In 2011, the General Assembly re-established DPH as an independent state agency after more than 30 years of operating within a consolidated structure.
At the state level, DPH carries out its mission through various divisions, programs, sections, and offices. Locally, it partners with and provides funding to 159 county health departments and 18 public health districts to ensure accessible and effective public health services across Georgia.
Despite structural changes over the years, DPH remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding the health and well-being of all Georgians.
