Physical Therapist Job Description

The Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing rehabilitative programs aimed at improving patient mobility, alleviating pain, increasing strength, and addressing disabling conditions caused by illness or injury. Through comprehensive assessments, continuous monitoring, and clear communication, the therapist builds trust and confidence with patients, their families, and healthcare teams.

This role requires strict adherence to local, state, and federal regulations to ensure patient privacy and safety while delivering the highest standard of care. Additionally, the Physical Therapist provides clinical supervision to assistants and aides and serves as a clinical instructor for assigned students.

Education & Certification

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program
  • Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) or approved license applicant/resident in a training program
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Certification

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of professional practice standards and regulatory guidelines
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and thrive in a fast-paced environment while meeting required deadlines
