Position Details

  • Evaluate assigned patients and develop treatment plans and goals based on data from patient records, interviews, observations, and input from the healthcare team.
  • Administer treatment according to the established care plan, adjusting as needed to meet patient needs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory and state licensure requirements, adhering to professional standards.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless, continuous patient care. Serve as a liaison between nursing, medical staff, and other therapy professionals to facilitate problem-solving and coordination of services.
  • Provide mentorship and supervision to new caregivers, occupational therapy assistants, and therapy aides. Offer clinical instruction and training to students as needed.
  • Participate in the development of new services and programs, as well as quality improvement and monitoring initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records.
  • Support and engage with occupational therapy student affiliation programs.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from a program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).
  • Experience: Previous experience as a registered Occupational Therapist preferred.
  • Licensure & Certification:
    • Occupational Therapist License in the State of Washington (Required)
    • Valid Driver’s License and Proof of Insurance (Required)
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (Required upon hire)

Department / Location-Specific Requirements (Home Health)

  • Conduct initial patient and home evaluations, applying criteria to determine eligibility for home care or hospice occupational therapy services.
  • Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) as needed.
  • One year of experience as an Occupational Therapist preferred.
  • Home Health experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance required.
