Position Details
- Evaluate assigned patients and develop treatment plans and goals based on data from patient records, interviews, observations, and input from the healthcare team.
- Administer treatment according to the established care plan, adjusting as needed to meet patient needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory and state licensure requirements, adhering to professional standards.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless, continuous patient care. Serve as a liaison between nursing, medical staff, and other therapy professionals to facilitate problem-solving and coordination of services.
- Provide mentorship and supervision to new caregivers, occupational therapy assistants, and therapy aides. Offer clinical instruction and training to students as needed.
- Participate in the development of new services and programs, as well as quality improvement and monitoring initiatives.
- Maintain accurate clinical records.
- Support and engage with occupational therapy student affiliation programs.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from a program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).
- Experience: Previous experience as a registered Occupational Therapist preferred.
- Licensure & Certification:
- Occupational Therapist License in the State of Washington (Required)
- Valid Driver’s License and Proof of Insurance (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (Required upon hire)
Department / Location-Specific Requirements (Home Health)
- Conduct initial patient and home evaluations, applying criteria to determine eligibility for home care or hospice occupational therapy services.
- Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) as needed.
- One year of experience as an Occupational Therapist preferred.
- Home Health experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance required.
