Responsibilities

As a Staff Occupational Therapist at CNS, you will play a vital role in transforming lives. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Patient Evaluations: Conduct initial assessments to identify key concerns and develop comprehensive treatment plans. Administer therapy programs, including range of motion exercises, and perform interim evaluations to update patient programs. Additionally, conduct on-site evaluations for jobs, homes, power tools, and height-related needs.
  • Reporting & Communication: Maintain detailed and accurate records. Collaborate with patients, insurance representatives, families, and therapists across various disciplines to provide guidance and information. Coordinate with external specialists, such as physiatrists, orthopedists, neuro-optometrists, and neurologists, as needed.
  • Program Management: Stay informed about all patient programs within the department. Supervise and provide guidance to clinic aides and students, ensuring daily treatment plans are carried out effectively. Be available for advice or treatment support as needed.
  • Therapeutic Interventions: Implement individualized therapy strategies, including sensory integration, neuromuscular and neurodevelopmental techniques, oculomotor and visual perceptual therapies, and other specialized interventions to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Collaboration & Teamwork: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care. Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of innovative, personalized treatment plans.

Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Certification: Must be certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • Licensure: Hold a current Occupational Therapy License in the state of employment or be eligible for licensure.
  • Preferred Experience: Knowledge and experience in sensory integration and neurodevelopment of the visual system are highly recommended and preferred.
  • Compensation: Salary range is based on various factors, including experience, education, training, licensure, and certifications. Initial offers typically fall within the mid-range.
