Job Description

Targeted Provision is looking for passionate NTP Teachers to provide support for young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and additional educational challenges such as Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH). Multiple positions are available across West Yorkshire to help engage and support at-risk learners. As an NTP Teacher, you will be working with students who need individualized, trauma-informed tutoring to help them achieve their educational goals. Key Responsibilities of the NTP Teacher:

  • Tutoring & Mentoring: Deliver tailored one-on-one tutoring sessions in subjects such as Maths, English, or Science for children with SEND, SEMH, MLD, or SLD.

  • Holistic Teaching: Provide trauma-informed and flexible tutoring methods that meet the unique needs of each student, improving both their academic and social-emotional development.

  • Session Planning: Plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the individual needs of students, ensuring they receive the necessary support to succeed.

  • Progress Reports: Track and document student progress, providing constructive feedback to help guide their learning journey.

Requirements for the NTP Teacher Role:

  • Teaching Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS), or equivalent teaching certification.

  • Experience: At least 2 years of teaching experience, preferably with students who have SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, or other additional educational needs.

  • Safeguarding Knowledge: A solid understanding of safeguarding processes and a commitment to following safeguarding policies.

  • Enhanced DBS: A valid Enhanced DBS check is required (we can help facilitate this if needed).

  • Location: Candidates must be based in the UK with the legal right to work, even for remote assignments.

SEN / SEND Tutor Employment Details:

This position will involve short-term, as-needed engagements as a Worker under a contract for service, with payments made via PAYE. We do not offer expenses coverage, and no set amount of work is guaranteed.
