The expected starting salary range for candidates based in New York is $55.59/hr. Salary will be determined by the candidate’s education, experience, skills, abilities, and location, as well as internal and external equity.

What You’ll Do:
- Demonstrate strong news judgment, recognizing the power and responsibility of our brand.
- Generate story ideas and maintain a positive, hardworking attitude.
- Collaborate effectively on story ideas and communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- Exhibit a detail-oriented approach while maintaining composure under tight deadlines.
- Experience in the New York Metropolitan area is preferred.
- Be flexible and willing to work holidays, nights, overnights, and weekends.
Qualifications
What You Bring:
- Ability to anchor or report live from the studio or in the field.
- Exceptional broadcast writing skills.
- Capable of interpreting complex material and transforming it into easily understandable copy under deadline pressure.
- Gather, write, record, edit, and deliver news content.
- Collaborate with newsroom staff.
- Anchor/report live during breaking news and special coverage.
- Interview newsmakers.
- Remain calm and controlled during major breaking news, projecting urgency without a script.
- Operate the studio board while on air.
- Engage with listeners on social and digital platforms to promote the brand.
- Research and develop potential news stories.
- Protect the station’s FCC license.
- Perform additional duties as required by management.
- A valid driver’s license, satisfactory motor vehicle record, and proof of insurance (if using your own vehicle) are required.
