What You’ll Be Doing
- Design and implement cutting-edge networks in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment.
- Monitor network and system performance, document events, and take proactive corrective action in response to alarms and alerts.
- Serve as the final escalation point (Tier-3/4) for troubleshooting network outages, ensuring resolution within service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Plan and execute network upgrades, maintenance windows, and enhancements.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Optimize procedures and refine standard operating protocols (SOPs) for efficiency.
- Conduct technical reviews and approvals of complex network-level changes and lead their implementation.
- Provide hands-on project implementation support during business hours and, when necessary, off-hours.
- Develop and maintain accurate documentation for network infrastructure.
- Act as a liaison between the engineering team and both technical and non-technical client personnel.
- Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with other business units to drive collaboration.
- Work closely with project management teams to meet critical milestones and deadlines.
- Oversee and test ILEC/CLEC circuit cutovers and network upgrades.
- Participate in on-call rotations to ensure seamless network operations.
- Contribute to a positive team environment and foster strong professional camaraderie.
- Troubleshoot and resolve simple to complex network outages with minimal supervision.
- Provide timely and precise updates to stakeholders through ticketing systems.
- Adhere to MAC procedures and department SOPs to maintain operational efficiency.
- Develop and execute effective testing and troubleshooting methodologies.
- Conduct on-site surveys for wired and wireless network access as needed.
- Perform physical installation of core network components, including racking, stacking, configuration, and testing.
- Work collaboratively within a team setting to drive success.
What You’ll Bring
- Minimum of 7 years of experience managing large-scale enterprise or ISP networks in a 24/7/365 environment.
- CCNP certification.
- Expertise in WAN technologies, including Metro Ethernet, MPLS, and EVPLs.
- Advanced proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting routing protocols such as BGP, static routing, EIGRP, and OSPF.
- Strong experience managing and supporting multi-controller enterprise Wi-Fi networks.
- Deep understanding of multicast routing protocols.
- Extensive experience with Radius, DHCP, and DNS server management.
- Strong hands-on experience working in Cisco-based switching and routing environments.
- Excellent customer-facing and communication skills.
