About the Job
We are seeking a Billing Specialist to join our team and support a client based in Oregon. In this role, you will manage patient inquiries, review outstanding and denied insurance claims, handle appeals, and maintain accounts receivable in line with clinic policies. The work schedule is 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pacific Time.
Key Responsibilities

Process insurance claims, including worker’s compensation when applicable, across all financial categories

Communicate with insurance providers to ensure timely payment of claims, resolve account or insurance discrepancies, and document all account actions

Manage the appeals process and follow up on aging claims

Respond to patient questions regarding account balances, payments, and refunds

Stay current with clinic policies, insurance procedures, and medical terminology

Engage in professional development to remain up to date with healthcare industry trends and practices

Contribute to innovative data and analytics initiatives aimed at improving orthopedic billing operations

Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework or certifications preferred)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on providing outstanding phone support and building positive relationships

Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail in managing insurance information and fee schedules

Proficient in office software systems with the ability to type at 50+ words per minute preferred

Willingness to learn industry practices and medical terminology

Analytical thinker with a drive to contribute to process improvements and innovation
