Position: Medical Billing Specialist

BYU Health Services is hiring a Medical Billing Specialist/Certified Medical Coder to support our Business Office team. In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in ensuring accurate billing and coding for services provided to students, missionaries, and employees. Key Responsibilities
Coding & Billing

Review patient charts to ensure accurate coding and charge entry for procedures, equipment, and services

Process and submit third-party insurance claims, addressing any issues with insurers

Provide responsive customer service via phone, email, and in-person interactions, answering billing and insurance-related inquiries

Maintain current certification through Continuing Education for bi-annual AACP renewal
Additional Duties

Support other billing office functions, including posting third-party payments

Assist with updates to the Business Office Training Manual
What We’re Looking For
Required
-
Certified Medical Coder
-
Proficiency in medical software programs, Microsoft Word, and Excel

Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred

1–3 years of experience processing third-party medical claims
