Provide excellent service to Veterans and their families

Participate in meetings, training sessions, and the implementation of the Arizona Management System (AMS) to promote efficiency and continuous improvement

Job Duties
-
Submit initial billing to payer sources and follow up as needed
-
Prepare correspondence and supporting documentation for appeals
-
Track, research, and resubmit denied claims
-
Enter ancillary charges, payments, adjustments, daily census data, and resident file updates into accounts receivable systems
-
Correct billing errors promptly
-
Stay up-to-date on coding and billing updates
-
Generate billing reports and maintain required billing logs for Medicare’s annual cost reports
-
Oversee Resident Trust Fund activities, including deposits, withdrawals, and assisting residents/families with account transactions
-
Prepare monthly statements for private pay accounts and manage collection efforts
-
Handle phone and in-person inquiries regarding trust and statement balances
-
Write collection letters and 30-day notices
-
Participate in AMS processes like Huddle Boards, Problem Solving, and Success Tracking
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
-
Familiarity with billing regulations and policies for insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, VA, and private pay
-
Understanding of accounts receivable and collection processes
-
Knowledge of medical terminology and billing codes
-
Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills
-
Ability to analyze data and problem-solve
-
Proficient data entry and basic math skills
-
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Pre-Employment Requirements
-
Current Negative TB skin test (Mantoux) or a physician’s statement of freedom from Tuberculosis
-
Ability to obtain and retain an Arizona Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance card
-
Valid state-issued driver’s license and acceptable driving record, if required for driving as part of job duties
-
Successful completion of the E-Verify program for employment eligibility
