Core Responsibilities

  • Proficient in medical software, insurance websites, and electronic health records (EHR).
  • Identify and resolve issues related to claims processing.
  • Contact third-party insurance payers to facilitate claims resolution.
  • Generate appeals or reprocess claims as needed to address problems.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, management, staff, and third-party representatives.
  • Ensure compliance with professional standards, company policies, HIPAA regulations, and federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Efficiently manage a high volume of claims while meeting productivity targets.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of experience in medical billing.
  • Experience in payment posting is a plus but not required.
  • Certification in coding/billing from AAPC, Practice Management Institute, or AHIMA (CPC, CMC preferred) with current continuing education/membership.
  • Ability to work independently and apply personal expertise to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Google Sheets.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to thrive in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills with a professional and positive attitude.
