Medical Assistant – Troy – FT/DAY
We are currently seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant (MA) to join our outpatient team and be part of a healthcare organization that values career growth and quality of life!
Work/Life: Full time- Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm
Responsibilities
- Escort patients to exam rooms, record vital signs, and update electronic medical records accurately.
- Address patient concerns, assist with referrals and pre-authorizations for diagnostic testing.
- Follow proper protocols for specimen collection and delivery.
- Complete patient forms and ensure proper documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Adhere to Universal Precautions and handle exposure incidents according to policy.
- Notify physicians of patients requiring intervention.
- Maintain stocked and clean patient exam rooms.
- Perform office testing and handle medical waste appropriately.
- Handle front-end functions such as scheduling, registration, check-in, check-out, and charge entry/claims.
- Assist with document processing, scanning, and inbox monitoring.
- Comply with the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) care delivery model.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with providers, clinical staff, colleagues, managers, and others.
- Adhere to the St. Peter’s Health Partners Medical Associates Code of Conduct.
- Obtain and maintain medical assistant certification.
Requirements
- Preferred: Graduate of a Medical Assistant Training Program and holds National Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, CCMA, RMA).
- Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent, at least 10 months of work and/or clinical training experience in the healthcare field.
