Job Overview – Medical Assistant (Orthopedic Care):
Step into a vital role as a Medical Assistant with our client in Poughkeepsie, NY, where you will provide exceptional patient care within an orthopedic care setting. In this position, you’ll support physicians and clinical staff by ensuring efficient patient flow, maintaining accurate records, and delivering a high standard of care to patients.
Compensation: $25/hour
Location: Poughkeepsie, NY
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Responsibilities as the Medical Assistant (Orthopedic Care):
- Patient Coordination: Greet patients, record vital signs, and prepare them for exams.
- Clinical Support: Assist physicians during procedures and ensure patient comfort.
- Administrative Tasks: Schedule appointments, manage records, and handle correspondence.
- Diagnostic Assistance: Prepare instruments, perform tests, and assist with imaging orders.
- Medication Support: Administer medications and injections under supervision.
- Infection Control: Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of rooms and equipment.
Qualifications for the Medical Assistant (Orthopedic Care):
- Education: High school diploma and completion of an accredited medical assistant program are required.
- Experience: At least 1 year of clinical experience in a medical office, clinic, or hospital setting.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with EMR systems, basic computer skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Certifications: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
- Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, combined with excellent communication abilities and a patient-focused approach.
